Rebecca Barnes, NOMA
Rebecca joined the team at MWM Architects as a designer and project manager following her graduation from the Texas Tech University College of Architecture (TTU CoA). She completed a B.S. in Architecture degree in 2017, a M.Arch degree in 2019, and earned a certificate in Healthcare Facilities Design. She left a lasting legacy on the college by founding and serving as president of the TTU CoA student chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architect Students (NOMAS), a nationally-recognized organization with which she has maintained membership as a professional. Now, as an alumni, Rebecca continues involvement with the TTU CoA by serving as a regular reviewer for undergraduate studio critiques, where she seeks to inspire young architecture students to think not just critically about their work, but also practically.
During her time at MWM Architects, Rebecca has worked diligently on a variety of projects including K-12 and higher education facilities, medical offices, retail spaces, civic memorials, specialized event venues, and renovations to historical buildings.
Rebecca is married to Neil Barnes, with whom she has two teenage children, a spoiled cat, and a pampered pooch. Her chauffeuring duties are fueled by her love of espresso, and in her downtime she can be found tending to her indoor and outdoor plants.
