MWM designed a new
89,000 sq. ft. Elementary School for the Wall Independent School District to replace an aging facility. The new elementary facility includes 46 traditional classrooms along with specialized classrooms for science labs and small-group teaching, and is designed to be able to expand to nearly double its capacity should enrollment increase.
In addition, the new school includes a secured entry, a full-size competition gym, a cafeteria, and a library. Two “hardened” spaces within the school serve a secondary function as a shelter for refuge in the event of severe weather.
