On the Cathelene Thomas Elementary campus, Slaton ISD has built a 5,700 s.f. gymnasium. The structure is a strong, energy efficient, and cost-effective monolithic dome, which can serve a secondary function as a tornado-resistant storm shelter for the school and the surrounding community.

The gym floor is a cushioned resilient vinyl appropriate for a variety of gym activities, and sturdy and long-lasting finishes are installed throughout the building.
