The vision for the Lubbock Regional Public Safety Memorial (LRPSM) began with a conversation and the dream of several prominent first responders in late 2003. The design went through several reinterpretations as the fundraising ebbed and flowed with the ups and downs of the economy. The LRPSM crystallized when a City of Lubbock Library building was razed due to environment challenges and it became the site for the LRPSM.
MWM Architects, Inc., Lee Lewis Construction and the LRPSM Committee were able to finalize the design and complete the construction with the help of a prime donation, the support of numerous Lubbock businesses, and the generous donations from many of the construction companies.
