Previously, Crosbyton CISD elementary school students were spread out between two buildings; in order to bring all elementary students in one building, Crosbyton built a 13,300 s.f. classroom addition to its existing elementary school. The new building, completed in 2018, includes a new centralized and secure entry, a new administrative suite, 10 new classrooms, and a “hardened” area for use as a storm shelter.
The existing 12,300 s.f. building has been renovated with updated finishes that will brighten up the interior spaces and provide a uniform experience between the new and old parts of the school. The central feature of the renovation is an expanded and re-finished library with natural daylight and a variety of spaces for small-group instruction or individual reading.
