Atmos Energy’s 34,000 square foot facility supports the Lubbock Region’s natural gas needs. The project consists of three buildings: an administration building, a maintenance building, and a garage building. The administration building supports inspectors, managers, engineers, and analysts. It houses offices, a conference room, break room, catering kitchen, and training rooms. The building was constructed with a Structural Insulated Panel System (SIPS). This system is energy efficient and has the potential to reduce HVAC use up to 40 percent.
A rainwater collection system is utilized to support the toilets and watering the landscape. The 16-bay maintenance building supports all installation fleet vehicles, trucks, and equipment associated with maintenance and houses all parts for repair and calibration. There are several rooms provided for technical tools and equipment, and a fire resistant welding room supports all needs of repair. The garage building is a 8-bay building that houses the larger vehicles, trenches, cranes, and brekex trucks.
